Overcoming Stress and Anxiety through the Power of Peace

Stress and anxiety are part and parcel of our human existence. There is no one who does not have to face some sort of stress and states of anxiety. Through this course, we venture into the make up stress and anxiety, seeking to understand what they are "telling" us. More importantly, we will consider helpful and constructive ways of facing them. We will also look at the practices that can help foster peace and serenity of soul.

What you will learn

The human sciences can furnish us with important insights and tools for understanding stress and anxiety and engaging them in a healthy fashion. In the context of faith in God's purpose for human flourishing, these insights and tools can go a long way in providing peace and sense of stability in our lives.

Your instructor

Dr. Musslewhite is a graduate of the Divine Mercy University’s Institute for the Psychological Sciences, an APA accredited Catholic Graduate School of Psychology. She has a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and a law degree from the American University, Washington College of Law, Washington, D.C. She also obtained her B.S. in Accounting from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. Before entering Divine Mercy University, she worked as an accountant and lawyer.

Dr. Musslewhite has worked with couples, families and groups for nonprofits and in private practice. Recently she worked at Vital Sources in Frederick, performing assessments and engaging in therapy. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at Divine Mercy University. She has been married for 42 years and has three adult children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Musslewhite joined Alpha Omega Clinic in 2022 and sees clients in Bethesda, MD. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Alpha Omega Clinics in the greater DC area.
